Staff at engineering company RCR Tomlinson in Bayswater, who took part in the Heart Foundation’s Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve fundraising event, are the proud winners of a coffee machine thanks to event sponsors Sunbeam.

Heart Foundation Event Coordinator Pippa McKinnon and Sunbeam’s Angie Liveris visited RCR Tomlinson recently to present manager Joseph Tufilli with the brand new coffee machine.

Mr Tufilli said theprize was a bonus to what was a very enjoyable event.

“Staff really enjoyed getting dressed in their team colours for the derby.  It was a great social day for staff and helped raise money for Heart Foundation”

The Heart Foundation’s Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve event encouraged footy fans across the State to express their friendly rivalry with work mates, friends and family in the lead up to Derby matches.

Taking part was as simple as organising an office sweep, holding a footy themed quiz or wearing team colours for a donation.

Heart Foundation Chief Executive Maurice Swanson said it was a great opportunity to build office camaraderie and raise money for the Heart Foundation to continue its life saving work.

“In Australia, cardiovascular disease claims a life every 10 minutes. Currently, it causes 36 per cent of all deaths and adversely affects the quality of life of one in six Australians – an astounding 3.5 million people,” Mr Swanson said
